Feeling the connection...
There are times when I feel like I have experienced something that is hard to put into words. This is one of those times.
I have been studying "The Master Key of Success" which is one of the works "The Secret" was based upon (and is available for free download from their site at www.thesecret.tv ).
Basically it's a series of 24 reflections and lessons to help build your power and connectiveness to the Divine (which I think of as Isis but any concept of the Divine is fine). The first lesson is physical stillness - which I used to be a master of as I used to meditate every day for 15-30 minutes. I haven't followed that as strongly as I used to for a while though so am getting back into it and thought doing so while following The Master Key (MK) would be a good way of doing so. I managed physical, mental stillness, and relaxation for 5 minutes today and will build on that (this actually combines the first 3 lessons from the MK but as I used to do this easily every day, I felt it would be okay to combine them and work back up to 30 minutes a day). I started meditating daily when I was 12.
As it usually does, meditation makes me feel "open" (this is the part that is hard to explain). It's almost like my head opens and my mind can more freely feel and absorb everything around it (if that makes sense). I used to go into this state before studying in middle and high school and found I could more easily remember eveything for my test (I was a straight A student).
I tend to be more aware of everything around me and while I was in this state, I started thinking about one of the concepts in the MK - connectedness. We are all connected. We are the Divine and the Divine is us. Willow's line in Buffy the Vampire Slayer about feeling the connectedness of the Earth flashed thru my mind and I became aware of a heron behind the house cooing.
Looking out my bedroom window, I realized it was just out of view so I started to go into the next room to see if I could see it when I noticed a rainbow being cast on the wall behind my bedroom door. I have several crystals hanging around the windows oposite that wall so started looking at which it might be. I moved into this house a year ago and never noticed the rainbows here, though they used to cast them all around the room in my old apartment.
I went from crystal to crystal trying to locate the source and finally discovered they were emanating from the quartz crystal end of the wand in the stand on my altar that is before the window. Which, by the way, is a pathfinder connection wand!
It made me pause to realize just how connected these events were leading me full circle to my wand (which I haven't used in a while and immediately picked up and meditated with having a wonderful experience of feeling even more connnected!
These musings also lead me to realize I am connected to all those around me, including my customers, that I sometimes feel I take too much for granted. While processing last nights orders and packing shipments today, I am taking a moment to realize and appreciate that connection. To feel gratitude for the path that lead that person to my sites and the connection they will hopefully feel to the items they receive and the joy it will give them.
What a wonderful way to look at working!

The Secret and the Law of Attraction
Recently reading more and more about the Law of Attaction (The Secret), I read a story in the Secret book about a man doing a test with a feather - visualizing a certain feather with certain markings and then finding the exact feather laying in his path. So I decided to do a test myself and after giving it a lot of thought, I decided to use a customers missing order as my test.
In a nutshell, I shipped a $230+ order to the UK for a customer last April and the tracking number showed 1 attempted delivery April 13, 2006 and then nothing after that. The customer was a pain and never would go to her post office to look for it and I ended up refunding her around the end of April for it. So I was out the $230 she paid me as well as the $100 or so worth of items she had ordered.
I remembered the shipment in as much detail as I could and the circumstances of the order, conversations with the customer, the emotions I felt about it, etc. and then told the universe I wanted that shipment back. This was about 2 weeks ago.
Yesterday, I went to the post office and guess what was waiting for me to pick it up??? It was marked "unclaimed" on April 20, 2006. No idea where it's been since, but everything was perfectly intact and is now back in my inventory :)
If I did have any doubts about the LOA working, I don't now!

Or I should say a return to better habits.
It's been a while since I've posted here and I decided I would try to get back into the habit of at least posting every few days. As I am currently preparing for the Festival of Opet, I figured this would be a good place to plan out my ritual.
One of the things I've been working on lately is aligning the Wiccan holiday's I used to observe with the Egyptian Path I currently follow. So I've been looking a lot at Egyptian festivals and holidays and how they correspond to other holidays.
The first I am planning to incorporate this way is The Festival of Opet which traditionally was held the 2nd Egyptian month of the year. Now, our modern calendar isn't the same as the Egyptian calendar and February wasn't normally the 2nd Egyptian month, but it seems to tie in nicely to the seasons in my area (Florida), so I have decided to adopt it and celebrate it on the Wiccan holiday of Imbolc (or Candlemas) on February 2.
Imbolc is the Festival of Lights, when the return of the Sun (and the God) is celebrated. Coicindentally (?) The Festival of Opet focused on Amun(-re), the Egyptian God of the Sun and creator. So I think it ties in nicely.
Traditionally, the Festival (or Feast) of Opet consisted of the statues of Amun, his consort Mut and son Khonsu being carried in a covered barque (boat) from their sanctuary in Karnak across the Nile to the West Bank to visit the pharoah's mortuary temple and the temples of other Gods. It confirmed (or reconfirmed) the power and kingship of the Pharoah.
There was also a tradition of divination where during the processional, a citizen could ask a yes or no question of Amun. If the barque dipped or the carriers stepped back for a moment, the answer was no. If they continued steadily on, the answer was yes.
So, the main focus of my ritual is going to be a celebration of Amun as the Lord of Light and bestower of power. I plan a dawn ritual watching the sun rise and celebrate his filling me with power as the first rays of the sun reach me. I am also thinking of a simple divination using my white and black scarabs that I have used before in yes/no readings.
I haven't worked out all the details as yet, but so far I am liking the direction I am heading!
Any one else that would like to design a ritual for the Festival of Opet is invited to send me comments or links to your own ideas. I'd love to share the results after the 2nd as well!

Correlations between Egyptian Mysticism and the Kaballah
I've been really noticing a lot of correlations between the Kaballah and Egyptian Liturgy. I've been working a lot on figuring them out.
I studied the Kaballah for a while and studied Ritual Magic (though found it a bit too Christian-based and structured for me...I like to ablib more :) ).

Difference between Wicca and Egyptian Wicca
Someone asked on the tag board what the difference was in Wicca and Egyptian Path. Besides using the Egyptian Dieties, there are a few.
It's true we don't call the quarters in our circle - The Elements are called during the erection of the Temple (and often honored during Solstices) and are considered to be always present so it's not necessary to call them for every ritual or spell. But as far as opening the circle counter-clockwise, that isn't true. Most Egyptian rituals do not use formal circles at all and I've never heard of calling them counter-clockwise.
Egyptian rituals tend to be more formal, ritualized affairs similar to High Magick. (Though I consider myself Eclectic Egyptian since I don't always do formal rituals! lol). I tend to do what I feel I need to at the time and find it effective.
I'm still learning a lot and as I said, practice an Eclectic Egyptian Wicca and not formal Temple of Isis or similar teachings.

On February 21 we entered one of my favorite seasons - The Season of Nut, as the sun transitioned into Pisces. I guess it's a favorite since I was born this month (on the 14th) and so am a Pisces and because I love Nut.
Nut is Goddess of the Sky and mother of Isis, Osirus, Set and Nephytis, wife of Geb (the Earth). Her star-spangled body stretches over the heavens.
I've been observing the seasons and the Egyptian Diety that rules them now for several months and finding it a great way to learn about more about the Diety. I search out all the myths about them I can and add a hymn to them during my daily devotionals at my altar. This month, I'm also wearing a sky goddess pendant in honor of Nut.

A lovely new site I found
I recently discovered Akhentef's World
- a lovely site about the Ancient Egyptian Gods & Goddesses. I especially love her personal descriptions of the God/desses she has spoken with. A lovely site - even if it is on Geocities.

Haven't written in a while...
Not really sure why. It's been a strange couple of months. In some ways, I'm more confused then ever - especially when it comes to my personal life and relationships. In other ways, I feel more centered and empowered than ever.
My online stores are doing well - which might be part of the problem. I've been planning to change things at my 9 to 5 job once my stores got going well. Now that they are and it's coming down to it, I'm waffling a bit.
I'm trying to get back to my ol' routine - including writing - and guess I'll see where Isis guides me.
